In AEGEE there isn’t any national level in order to promote international co-operation and avoid creating any nationalism or mental borders.

Our organizational structure is based on:
• Local level – where people from the autonomic AEGEE locals (called
Antennae), in their university cities, directly implement AEGEE aims in a way
that serves best the needs of their local community.
• European level – which gives the great common frame and direction for
all local activities and provides a platform for international co-operation in
multicultural teams.
All the Aegee Network is divided into 10 Regions not according to national
level. Task of the Network Commission (NetCom), composed of one member from each
region, is to support the locals and be a connection through the locals and the
European Level.
Aegee-Messina is in the Rainbow
Region that include all the locals in Italy, Bosnia and Hertzegovina, Croatia,
Malta, Montenegro and Slovenia. More at
Network Commission
internet site.

The european board (Comité
Directeur - CD), based in Brussels,
is composed by 9 students from at least 4 different nationalities and no more
than 3 from the same country. These students usually take a break from their
studies for 1/2 to 1 year and move to Brussels to the AEGEE head-office in rue
Nestor de Tière 15 to steer and lead the association. They are elected at the
general assembly of the association (the AGORA) taking place twice a year, where
all the delegates from each local meet and set up the guidelines of the
association according to the proposal discussed during the European Board
Meeting.
During the AGORA also the members of
the Commissions (Audit, Juridical, Members, Network), Project Teams and Working
Groups are elected as well as the Liaison Officers.
Elements of AEGEE
Antenna is the name for each AEGEE local. An antenna organizes at least one
European event in one year, as well as local activities. Currently there are
almost 260 antennae of AEGEE in Europe, from Moscow to Madrid, from Istanbul to
Stockholm.
The Agora,
AEGEE General Assembly, meets twice a year. Up to 1000 AEGEE members, delegates
of each locals, gather for three-four days to discuss proposals and projects,
take decisions and set up the guidelines for AEGEE
European
Boards' Meeting (EBM)
is the meeting of the Board members of each AEGEE local, or its representatives.
It lasts three days and takes place once a year (February-March). In an EBM are
discussed the proposals that will be voted and decided at the Agora.
Comité
Directeur (CD)
is the administrative and representative body of AEGEE. It is formed of a
maximum of nine people from different nationalities, that work voluntarily from
the AEGEE-Europe headquarter, in Brussels. It’s composed of President, Financial
Director, Secretary General, Public Relations Director, Network Development
Director, External Relations Director, Director for European Institutions,
Projects Director and Human Resources Director. They are elected at the Agora.

Working
Groups (WG)
are the thematic backbone of AEGEE. They are international groups whose members
organize events based on a specific topic, as politics, European minorities or
environmental topics. For more information click
here.
The
Commissions
are support and control bodies for the CD or the AEGEE locals. There are four:
Audit Commission, Juridical Commission, Members Commissions and Network
Commission. For more information click
here.
The Project
Teams coordinate
the work of the projects all over Europe. These projects can be conferences on a
specific topic, thematic days and any kind of activities. These teams consist of
members from different nationalities, elected at the Agora.. For more
information about projects click
here.
The Liaison
Officers (LO)
represent AEGEE-Europe towards an institution or organisation (for example
UNESCO or European Youth Foundation). The CD decides for which institutions a LO
should be appointed and decides on the person as well, after having addressed an
open call (on the main mailing list) to the network. Anyway the decision has to
be ratified by the Agora.
