Write the  Motivation Letter

You have to write your motivation letter in English, or in the language of the country you are going to visit.

We suggest you to divide the motivation into two parts: a personal description about you. And a second part specifying why you would like to attend that SU and not another, and this need to be specific for the place you chose.

Obviously it doesn’t exist the right way to write a motivation letter. The only one is that allow you to be accepted and nobody can know which would be. On the other side it’s always better to respect some rules of common sense:

- Immediately write in your motivation few lines that will attract the attention.

- Read careful the topic of the SU you would like to attend and let them know that you like it, to get more information you can also get a look at the web site, if available, of the organizers.
- Avoid common things and description of places rather write about you.

- If you chose a language course, try to write your motivation (or at least a part of it) in the language of the country you’d like to visit. If you chose the advanced level, you have to write it in the language of the country you apply for.
- If your English is not so good, write only simple sentences and try to avoid grammatical errors (Microsoft Word can help you in this).
- Keep in mind that you will be selected by students from 20 to 27, but avoid any kind of weird humour. Sense of humour is different from country to country and a funny sentence in Italy may not be that funny in the Netherlands.
